Install BongKert Studio, step by step

Install on a Mac

1. Open the downloaded file

   In Downloads, double-click BongKert-Studio-1.1.0-macOS-arm64.dmg. A window opens with BongKert Studio and an Applications folder.

2. Drag the app into Applications

   Drag the BongKert Studio icon onto the Applications folder in that window. Wait until the copy finishes.

3. Open the app

   Open Finder → Applications and double-click BongKert Studio.

4. The first time, macOS shows a warning

   macOS says it could not verify that BongKert Studio is free of malware. Choose Done, not Move to Trash.

   Why: the app is not registered with Apple yet, so macOS cannot check it for you. Only open a copy you downloaded from this website.

5. Choose Open Anyway

   Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security. Next to the line about BongKert Studio, choose Open Anyway, enter your Mac password, then choose Open.

   You do this once. After that the app opens like any other.

Install on Windows

1. Run the setup program

   In Downloads, double-click BongKert-Studio-1.1.0-Windows-x64-Setup.exe.

2. If Windows protected your PC

   Windows may show a blue box, "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway.

   Why: the setup program is not signed with a paid certificate yet, so Windows does not recognise it. Only run a copy you downloaded from this website.

3. Choose who can use it

   Choose Install for me only. It needs no administrator password. Choose Install for all users only if everyone on this PC needs the app.

4. Follow the setup

   Accept the licence, keep the suggested folder and choose Install. Tick "Create a desktop shortcut" if you want an icon on the desktop.

5. Finish

   Leave "Launch BongKert Studio" ticked and choose Finish. Later, open it from the Start menu: type BongKert Studio.

   Installed for you only, the app lives in your user folder (AppData\Local\Programs\BongKert Studio); for all users, in Program Files. Either way it is in the Start menu.

Set up the AI

The installer stays small. Speech recognition, Khmer voices and the other AI features download from inside the app, once, and only the ones you choose.

1. Open Set up AI

   While something is still missing, the home screen shows Set up AI: choose it. You can also open it any time: Settings, at the bottom of the list on the left of the home screen → Set up AI.

2. Install what you need

   Each feature says what it does and what it needs. Install the ones you will use. They download in the background, so you can keep working.

Sign in to your account

BongKert Studio works without an account. Sign in to use your Pro plan and your BongkertVox voice credits on this computer.

1. Choose Sign in

   On the home screen, choose Sign in at the bottom left. It is also in Settings → Account.

2. Type the code on the website

   The app shows a short code and opens this website in your browser. Sign in there with Google and type the code. No browser page? Open the address the app shows on any computer or phone.

   The app never sees your Google password. You can sign a computer out from your account page at any time.

3. You are signed in

   The app shows your name and plan. Pro features and your credits work on this computer from now on, and Pro keeps working offline until the end of your plan.

Updates

The app checks for a new version shortly after it opens and every few hours, in any country.

1. See the Update button

   When a new version is ready, Settings → About shows Update to and the version. To look right away, choose Check for updates there.

2. Update in two clicks

   Choose Update to … to download it, then Install and restart. Your projects, voices, models and settings are kept.
